Ancient Therapy

This ancient therapy was revived in 1994 in Tuscon, Arizona. Heated stone therapy has been used by the Kahunas of Hawaii, Shan Dynasty (2000-1500 BC) of China, Russians, Japanese, Mayan Indians and the Native Americans.

Soothing and Calming

In this therapy the basalt stones are heated to 125-140 degrees F. (50-60degrees C). Warmed stones are placed over chakras, in palms, between toes, and along both sides of the spine. The body is oiled and the heated stones slide over the large muscles of the legs, sides, arms, back and shoulders. It is very soothing and calming.

This therapy is great for sprains, strains, acute bursitis, acute inflammation, tendinitis, chronic tension, tennis elbow, headadche, migraine, and cerebral congestion, constipation, atrophied muscles, fibromyalgia, and menstrual problems.

It is not recommended in pregnancy or with acute asthma or acute infections.

After a day of activity relax tired muscles

After a great day of hiking, biking, golfing, or wakeboarding, skiing, snowboarding, hockey or snowshoeing, this is a great way to begin relaxing aching tired muscles. Hot Stone Therapy Massage is available here at the Sunflower Inn B&B with Alpine’s Holistic Healing. Book one or several hot stone therapy massage treatments while you stay at the Sunflower Inn B&B.

Hot Stone Therapy Massage

Hot Stone Therapy Massage is a form of thermotherapy (thermo=heat) that uses heated basalt rocks and cooled marble stones. Basalt is an igneous rock of polycrystalline structure. Heat emanates from the basalt in many directions slowly.

Basalt originates from cooled volcanic magma and its composition contains olivine (an iron or magnesium silicate)

The marble is a metamorphic rock of limestone in origin, its composition is more than 90% calcium carbonate. Marble is a mono-crystalline structure and emanates energy in one direction quickly and deeply. Marble is used in cold therapy and emanates a cool energy.

Promotes Deep Relaxation

Hot Stone Therapy Massage improves lymphatic and immune systems, normalizes body functions, facillitates homeostasis and assists self-healing. The heated basalt stones give heat or electromagnetic energy to the client thus promoting deep relaxation, balance and a sense of peace. The cool marble stones dissipate physical, emotional and psychological stress, bringing clarity and serenity.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the craniosacral system (a physiological system like the cardiovascular and respiratory systems) – comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Cranio comes from cranium meaning the head, and sacral comes from sacrum meaning the 5 fused bones just above the coccyx.

This therapeutic technique uses light touch of 5 grams, working with the natural and unique rhythms of the different body systems to pinpoint and correct source problems and improve the functioning of the central nervous system. Craniosacral Therapy utilizes techniques developed by Dr. John Upledger at the Upledger Clinic based in Palm Beach, Florida.

By complementing the body’s natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

Craniosacral Therapy has helped people with:

  • Headaches and Migraines

  • Head Injuries (falls off bikes, hitting the boards or ice in hockey or skating, diving, concussions)

  • Soft Tissue Injuries (whiplash)

  • Birth trauma (cord around the neck, shoulder dystocia, overriding sutures)

  •   Cerebral Palsy

  •   Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)

  •   Back Injuries

  •   TMJ problems

  •  Reading calculation problems, and other learning disabilities (dyslexia and dyscalculia)

  •   Behavioral Disturbances

Somatoemotional Release (SER)

Somatoemotional Release (SER) helps release old toxins (physical crystallization, old stored emotions, old unprocessed pain) from the tissues of the body, allowing the tissues to soften and circulation and nervous system function to be restored. Heat release from the tissues, a pulsing sensation, and a change (deepening) in the breathing pattern can all be felt by the client and observed in the client by the therapist.

Visceral Therapy (VM)

Visceral Therapy (VM) is a method of therapy that uses gentle hands-on techniques to restore balance and function to the body’s organ systems after injury, illness, surgery and stress. It uses manual touch to release restrictions in the body’s organ systems (lungs, heart, spleen, intestines, bladder, pancreas, etc.), helps dissipate the effects of both physical and emotional stress and enhances general health and resistance to disease.

VM employs specifically placed manual forces that work to encourage the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera and their connective tissues. Trained practitioners use the rhythmic motions of the visceral system to evaluate how abnormal forces interplay, overlap and affect the normal body forces at work. These gentle manipulations can potentially improve the functioning of individual organs, the systems the organs function within, and the structural integrity of the entire body.

Heart Centered Therapy

Heart Centered Therapy helps the client process work for the inner child, process emotion in the body’s tissues, and realeases SE viruses (spiritual-emotional viruses). Original trauma’s are identified with their related emotional, mental and spiritual components. Healing of the collective ancestral and cultural patterns is emcompassed as well. Energy Medicine

Energy Medicine focuses on personal transformations and healing of body, emotions, mind and spirit. It promotes optimal health by reducing stress, preventing illness, maintaining and/or regaining health, assisting with relaxation and promoting a renewed sense of spiritual well-being through a psycho-spiritual energetic process.

An Energy Medicine Healer is trained to assist his/her client to heal by initiating changes in the energy system based on an identified issue(s). From an in-depth energetic assessment, an energetic diagnosis is made with interventions specific to desired outcomes to bring balance and harmony in the energy system. The healing experience is a co-creative process between client and practitioner supporting the client’s cultural/spiritual background and personal goals.

The goal in Energy Medicine is to clear, balance, heal and/or energize the body, emotion, mind and spirit with a special focus on psycho-spiritual process.

Lymph Drainage Therapy

Bruno Chikly has developed the hands-on method of lymphatic drainage that I have learned. Specific rhythms, direction, depth and qualility of lymph flow are palpated by the practitioner’s hands. Deep states of relaxation are induced with this therapy. Fluid flows of the body are recirculated through the lymph channels called lymphagions.

Manual Lymphatic Mapping can be done to assess the direction of lymphatic circulation. Areas of fluid stagnation can be detected and alternative routes for draining lymph and other body fluids can be determined. Lymph Drainage Therapy is a good preventative health therapy.

It is good for maintaining breast health, and youthful looking skin. It is great therapy for deep relaxation. Lymph Drainage helps the body fluids recirculate, increases the immune system’s functioning for preventative health measures and therapeutic health measures. Lymph Drainage promotes a state of relaxation and balance for the autonomic nervous system, detoxifies the body, decreases edema, and promotes tissue regeneration.

Reduction in chronic pain symptoms, fibromyaglia symptoms, and chronic fatigue symptoms have been observed with the use of Lymph Drainage Therapy. Lymph Drainage Therapy has also been known to reduce and alleviate symptoms of insomnia, depression, stress, loss of vitality and loss of memory. Adiposis and cellulite tissue can be alleviated with this therapy also.
